Overview

O3 Sports Xchange is a sports trading platform built for sports fanatics who enjoy the game and want to make money from their time committed into their favorite sports. Sport fans buy shares for the chance to win weekly payouts calculated based on player performance on match gameweeks, and their presence in the platform's media rankings, which paid out on the top trending sportsmen each week.

For the MVP, there’s a need to create a brand identity for the platform, with a visually appealing mobile experience that is easy to use by football fans in the English Premier League (MVP focus).

The Product Requirement Document (PRD) was shared with all the necessary requirements and flows needed to work with.

Approach

I started with research; to understand the product objectives and user’s needs. I also analyzed competitor products to have a sense their user experience, and understand their strategy towards solving their user problems.

To make sense of my research data, I created user personas to highlight users' goals and frustrations and aligned them with their solutions highlighted in O3 Sport’s objectives.

Then I created user flows to visually represent the user journey and designed the wireframes, design system, and high fidelity prototypes.

I ran usability tests at different phases of the design stage;

  • On the wireframes (internally with the team) to evaluate the flow.

  • On the low-fidelity prototypes (with the team and stakeholders) to re-evaluate the flow, get feedback.

  • On the high-fidelity prototypes with stakeholders and users to build user satisfaction.
